IQNA – During a ceremony at the holy mausoleum of Imam Ali (AS) in Najaf, Iraq, female memorizers of the entire Quran were honored.

Karrar al-Najafi, head of the religious affairs department of the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine, said a total of 37 female memorizers from different age groups were praised for their achievement.

They had managed to learn the entire Holy Quran in three years, he noted.

The ceremony was organized by the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the Astan in line with efforts to promote the Quranic culture, he stated.

Addressing the function, Bushra al-Sabbaq, head of the women’s section of the Dar-ol-Quran Center, highlighted the role the Astan has played in encouraging women and girls to memorize the Quran and in promoting the Quranic teachings.

She added that memorization of the Holy Book can greatly contribute to the role women can play different aspects of life.
